Carmen del Valle-Izurieta is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Extremely empathetic and compassionate, Carmen integrates these traits with her own appreciation for the analytical viewpoint of mathematics. She believes that our time here, on this Earth, is both a meaningful and purposeful journey. While on this amazing journey, we may have times where we feel stuck or find ourselves questioning our route.
Carmen believes that, in life, as with mathematics, we can expect to receive knowns, unknowns and the proverbial "problem". She helps individuals learn how to navigate all these variables and work toward a solution. During these difficult junction points of change, Carmen encourages individuals to seek the assistance of a professional therapist and recognizes the benefit it can provide along the way.
Carmen has eleven years of experience as a therapist. She is a member of American Counseling Association and the Florida Counseling Association, attends countless continuing education courses and has completed training in Gottman Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2. In her counseling, she incorporates mindfulness as well as cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and couple- or family-focused therapies. Carmen provides individual, couples and family counseling to help overcome anxiety, depression, bereavement, codependency, substance abuse and internet addictions, as well as marriage, relationship, self-esteem and women's issues.
